The Primrose Pioneer

Primrose Organic Farm was set up  by Dr Paul Benham back in the early 1980s as a pioneering organic market garden. Almost fifty years later,  it retains the 'Spirit of Primrose' by remaining a small-scale low impact organic farm that continues to provide opportunities for people to  learn how to grow organic fruit and vegetables.

Keeping the tradition 

We took on the market garden from Paul in 2015 and are proud that we have been able to keep it running and proud that we instigated the process of encouraging g young growers to take on the running of the Market garden. 

Since taking the reins, we have seen many Assistant Growers progress into Head growers   Some have moved on to be Head Growers in new Market Gardens - well done Glenn and well done Hawk. Some have set up their own new Market Gardens -  well done Tamsin & well done 'the Ameliarator'!
 

Looking forward, we are developing Primrose in new ways. We have a website, an online shop, a social media fanbase and a new exciting vision based on re-imagining the way the farm's buildings are used...
